Wanted an area for my perfumes! This is something I got into a few years ago that started out as the hunt for the perfect cruelty-free peach perfume (I'm still looking, by the way) and ended up as a full-blown hobby. I always liked smelling candles and incenses and whatnot in stores, so the ability to order so many 1ml-5ml smells from so many different houses was an incredible (and dangerous) discovery for me.
This is the first perfume I ever got (as a small rollerball) when I was a kid - mainly because I liked the rainbow color, though I did end up liking the smell as well.
After I found out they no longer make the really pretty rainbow bottle, I bought a used one off of eBay.
The first 10ml perfume I bought as an adult when I started getting interested in perfumes, wanted something cruelty-free that felt inoffensive and good for the summer.
I like that it's not too sweet or floral, though I do wish it lasted longer.
Part of a pair of 10 ml perfumes I bought from Skylar during a labor day sale.
I liked a lot of their samples already, including coconut cove, so thought I'd give this one a try.
It's a much sweeter, wood-focused version that feels like it would work in most seasons.
As with most Skylar perfumes, it's not super strong and doesn't last super long on me.
Had my eye on this one back when it was limited, it's very cinnamon and ginger forward making it really nice for fall - not too sweet, not too spicy.
I don't think it smells like a pumpkin spice latte, but it does give those vibes.
As with most Skylar perfumes, it's not super strong and doesn't last super long on me.
Perfume I'm Considering Buying Full-Size (10ml+):
For now I mostly just have fun sniffing new scents and getting little samples, like a AYCE KBBQ, but with perfume.
That said, these are perfume samples I particularly enjoy and wear outside.
So, when they run out I'm thinking about buying them in either a small rollerball or a big spray boy (depending on the bottle design and cost):
Death and Floral: Pumpkin Boooudh - Really dark, spicy, woody, sweet fall scent.
I don't really know how to explain it, it doesn't specifically smell like pumpkins but it does feel like being in an autumnal pumpkin patch surrounded by a ton of trees?
I think I might be more of a sucker for oud than I realized.
Not super strong on me, lasts an okay amount of time (3-6hr).
For Strange Women: London Fog* - Smells just like earl gray tea!
Has good length and strength on me (6hr+).
Xerjoff: Cruz del Sur II* - This one has very mixed reviews but I love it, it smells like a creamy mango smoothie to me.
Not super strong on me, lasts an okay amount of time (3-6hr).
Bel Rebel: Peach Me* - Kickstarted my perfume collecting - has an incredible peach top note that disappears after 30 minutes.
I'm searching for a similar scent where the peach lasts at least a couple hours, but I'm afraid that perhaps there's no way to make that sort of scent a base note?
* Still trying out similar scents, holding onto a little bit left in each sample for now
Perfume Reviews
Below are various perfumes I have owned as a full size, 1ml-5ml sample size, or simply sniffed at Sephora and then ran away.
